"I recently had the pleasure of working with Calypso Diving during a predesign remedial investigation of a contaminated sediment site, and I cannot speak highly enough of their professionalism and expertise. From the outset, the team displayed an impressive commitment to safety and attention to detail, ensuring that all operations were conducted with the utmost care.

Their divers were highly skilled and knowledgeable, adeptly handling the complex and challenging conditions of the site. They provided detailed, accurate reports and invaluable insights that significantly contributed to our understanding of the conceptual site model. The state-of-the-art equipment they used and their strict adherence to safety protocols gave us complete confidence in the data they collected.

What stood out the most was their dedication to quality data. Calypso went above and beyond to implement new and informative methods for data collection during their investigation. Their respect for the sampling methodology and thorough approach to the task at hand were truly commendable.

I would highly recommend Calypso Diving to anyone in need of professional, reliable diving services. Their expertise, professionalism, and genuine care for collecting quality data make them a standout choice in their field."

“Calypso Diving was an instrumental partner in collecting sediment samples for a federal client. Their involvement was critical for meeting the demands of sediment collection in strenuous conditions at Bonneville Dam outside of Cascade Locks, Oregon. The diving team was highly trained, flexible, and performed in an excellent manner to help meet our client’s objectives. When it became apparent that their services would be needed for a larger scope of the work than anticipated, the team extended their schedule on short notice which ensured the project was completed on time. We’re thankful to have worked with a such a professional group of experts at Calypso Diving."

"For our ports and harbors CERCLA Superfund projects we needed a highly experienced and reliable dive team to carry out several tasks including structural survey of existing docks, collection of various sample media for physical & chemical analyses, and precise installation of instruments for collection of sensitive in-situ data for remedial design and allocation. Thankfully we contracted Calypso Diving, not only were they able to safely perform all of the complex tasks required in challenging conditions, they helped us satisfy our clients project needs and Federal oversight requirements, and they were a great group to work with" .

"Calypso Diving was a great help to the MATE student ROV competition in early May, bringing a team of four and a willingness to learn all about our event that day. They also answered our request for help on very short notice, brought gear down to the pool facility the night before and set up, and were great with all the students, volunteers, and the King County Aquatic Center staff. We hope to have them back again next year!"

We enjoyed working with Calypso Diving on an investigation field effort including the application of innovative technology in a freshwater system. The team was responsive in the field effort planning phase, providing necessary plans, certifications, and documentation. They also came prepared on the first day of the field effort and spent the mobilization day meticulously preparing the diving equipment and ensuring it worked as intended.

Teamwork and communication were excellent, and our company was very happy with their efficiency during the weeks of fieldwork that the sampling effort required. In communication with field team leads and other subcontractors, Calypso’s team lead Derek was very responsive, explaining the process on their end and ensuring the safety of the crew while efficiently executing complex tasks his team was asked to perform. As a part of their effort, the team was asked to follow a very specific deployment and retrieval protocol, including decontamination efforts, which they completed successfully. One of the challenges with the effort was the ability to retrieve equipment deployed in very soft sediment with low visibility due to high turbidity after the pre-determined duration of the deployment which was at least a couple of days. The divers implemented a system with a long rope to assist with locating the equipment upon retrieval. It was with the help of Calypso Diving’s team that this field effort went very smoothly. The team also contributed to the sampling event being a very positive work environment with their helpful and cheerful attitude. We are looking forward to working with Calypso Diving in the future.
